Filmmaker Zoran Dragelj wins multiple awards with Friends Like These

Friends Like These (2019) screened at MMXXI Foreman Empire Productions International Film Festival in Atlanta, Georgia and won multiple awards for the production and crew. The film was awarded Cinematography (Bryn McCashin), Best First Time Producer for Motion Picture (Zoran Dragelj) and Festival Director’s Choice (Zoran Dragelj).

“For many of us working on Friends Like These, this our first feature length project experience,” said Zoran. “Independent filmmaking is a team effort that flourishes on trust and solid working environment. Our cast and crew brought and contributed something really special. We are truly overwhelmed by the initial reaction by fellow filmmakers and actors who have seen the final cut of Friends Like These.”

Indie Activity wrote that Friends Like These was a delight: “Putting together Friends Like These, an independent feature film was a true labour of love. It is a collaboration between many creative minds in the city.”

Zoran shared more about the film. “I believe that the more specific, honest and the true story is, the more universally true it becomes,” he said. “Although the break up in the story hasn’t been either Josh and Dave’s personal experience, it is very emotionally true and honest, and that truthfulness shows on the screen.”

Friends Like These is available to rent and purchase on Prime Video.
