Congratulations on completing your degree!
The last leg of your academic journey held many challenges, but you persevered. Now here you are, a member of our renowned alumni community.
After the convocation ceremony, we’re sending you a postcard featuring artwork of another alumni, a tote bag, and a gift from our friends at Opus Art Supplies, a new set of pencils.
My name is Sára, and I’m your alumni relations connection. You can email me at any time with any questions you may have, to introduce yourself and your practice, or to submit your news for our website.
This page captures what you need to know as a new graduate of Emily Carr University. I’d also like to personally invite you to submit yourself for an interview about your practice so I can introduce you to the greater alumni community. You can find that form at the bottom of this page.
You’ve joined an incredible community of talented people that are here to support you in the transition from university to career. Celebrate this milestone. We look forward to seeing what you do next.

You are now among Emily Carr alumni and I welcome you to our community. I want you to remember that this degree is only a part of who you are and that you were a full and complete human before you started on campus. With the perspective, you’ve gained, and the practices you’ve developed, I look forward to hearing, seeing, and learning about what you create in your life with this.
The pathway forward may not be well-defined, but I trust that you will find your way as many others have. Our alumni end up applying themselves in a diversity of ways and I’m always surprised to hear where they end up and what they do with the foundations and methods they learned at Emily Carr.
I invite you to stay in touch, stay connected with your fellow alumni and stay informed about on-campus happenings. Our association is investing more into creating a more integral community for you to be a part of. We are actively seeking new board members and creating other ways in which you can engage and advocate on behalf of our association through new roles and opportunities we are developing. We would love to hear from you personally and to see you at one of our open General Meetings and our AGM in December.
If anything, make sure you get yourself signed into the Leeway and explore our new purpose-built platform for alumni and student connections. Best of luck and enjoy your summer.
